ABOUT MIMU & ME
Hi, I'm Brittany. Here's How Mimu & Me Began.
I'm a mom of two, former teacher and travel advisor in Calgary. I spent more than a decade teaching and hold a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction. Now I design screen-free toys and activities inspired by how my own children play at home, on outings and when we travel.
OUR STORY
It Started with Our Own Family
When my kids were little, I spent a lot of time finding activities for flights, restaurants and the long stretches of waiting in between. Some were huge hits. Others lasted about three minutes.
That's how Adventure Anywhere began. I curated screen-free activity kits with things we'd tried ourselves. But the more I put those kits together, the more I found myself asking whether one toy could offer a little more.
What if one little thing could do more?
That question became the heart of Mimu & Me.
HOW WE EVOLVED
Then I Started Designing Our Own
A little animal-threading activity inspired our puzzle, which now has five ways to play. A water-reveal book became a story about what really happens at an airport, complete with reusable stickers. And the Travel Bag became a place to store activities, prepare for a trip and play along the way.
We still make products for travel, but there's just as much to enjoy at home, at restaurants and during the everyday moments in between.

WHERE THE CALM CREW BEGAN
Benny Began With a Bedtime Story
Benny was inspired by my son. At bedtime, we would make up stories about a little bear who had experienced something similar that day: an argument with his sister, or the frustration of something not going his way.
Those stories gave us another way to talk about the day. Millie followed, inspired by my daughter Mila, and my son helped create Hazel, our little friend who can feel overwhelmed.
With Dr. Calli, I thought through the feelings and ideas each character would represent. Nina, our artist, brought them to life. You can now find these familiar friends in our puzzle, cards and travel activities.
THOUGHTFUL COLLABORATION
A Little Expertise Goes a Long Way
I bring my teaching background and parenting experience to each design, and I work with specialists when a product would benefit from their expertise. Dr. Calli Studebaker, a pediatric occupational therapist, helped develop our Calm Cards, Calm Crew strategies and travel-preparation activities.
Amanda Yetman
Special Education Consultant
Amanda, also known as Mandy, was a teacher for 10 years before transitioning into her current role as a Special Education Consultant. She has supported the development of our original Adventure Anywhere Kits through product vetting, activity suggestions, and ideas for using play-based materials to support developmental skills, and continues to support new product development. Amanda is passionate about helping children learn through play, whether at home or on the go.
Dr. Calli Studebaker
Owner, Confident Kids Therapy
Dr. Calli Studebaker is a pediatric occupational therapist and the owner of Confident Kids Therapy. She believes every child deserves to feel empowered, capable, and confident as they navigate their world. Calli brings an occupational therapy lens to Mimu & Me, supporting the development of tools and resources that help children build confidence, regulation, independence, and connection in everyday moments.
REAL LIFE MOMENTS
Made to Come Along
Calm Links might live in a basket on the coffee table until you need something for the restaurant. The puzzle can be a fishing game one day and a threading activity the next. My First Flight can come out weeks before a trip and again at the airport.

TRANSPARENCY
A Note on Sourcing
Mimu & Me is designed and developed in Canada. We work with manufacturing partners in China to produce our toys, tools and materials, and we are intentional about the quality and working standards we expect from those partners.
Our manufacturing partners have completed amfori BSCI social-compliance audits, which focus on responsible working conditions and supply-chain practices. Product safety is verified separately through independent third-party testing.
